Okay today is going home day.

I forgot to say yesterday that despite the fancy smansy double decker trains you can still feel like a sardine in a can  at rush hour,  as I found out yesterday coming back from the beach 😣

My case is packed and aside from clothes (some of which I didn’t even wear) I have in my case 4 hats,  two kangaroos, a koala, a boomerang, lots of shells and 4 fortune cookies! Don’t ask! If they make it back in one piece Alex will like opening them. I thought better of bringing back a didgeridoo! I also have Tim Tams! These are Australian biscuits which are a bit like our Penguin biscuits I think.

So I’m at the airport. Bag checked in. Through customs. Looking out at what I can only imagine is another hot day. Only 2 hours 15 minutes to wait till lift off on the first and very long leg of my journey home. Only 14 hours on the first leg. A mere 7 hours on the second leg. Hey ho.

I’m aboard plane number 1 and it’s half empty. I’m in a row of three seats and there’s only me. Yay. I can put my feet up! !

Bye bye Australia

It’s 3 am and despite me having three seats all to myself I’m still incredibly uncomfortable. I’ve tried to sleep but not sure if I’ve managed it. I’ve watched three films, The Gift, The Note book (which was very nice) and Spy (for the second time). Comedy’s just aren’t as funny the second time around. I’ve just realised that I’ve only got another 3 hours on this plane so that’s a bonus.

Only an hour and a half to go roughly and I’ve watched another film, Hot Pursuit. Hey ho.

Just at Dubai airport. Not long to wait and then I’m back to the cold and rain. Yayyyyy 😕

So plane two is as half empty as the first plane was. I also have the seat next to me free. I’ve tried to sleep and think I’ve had about two and a half hours sleep 😣

I hope I can stay awake for the rest of today (land in Birmingham at 6.25 am) being as I’m booked in the hairdressers at 2pm!

I’m back on English soil and it’s 2 degrees 😣 Just on the last leg of my journey on the train and should be home sweet home by 8.30 am.

All I need to do is now print off all the photos! 😆
