Day 3 of 6

Morning world. Just your average day in your average little town! I think I’m getting used to BIG now and can totally understand why the Americans say we live in ‘little old England’. Going back to UK will be like going to Lego land in Windsor (where I’ve never been.  Funny that you can go across the world but not been to Lego land (although I have been to Windsor 😁). I now appreciate how Gulliver felt 😂

Having the luxury of a lie in this morning so to while away my time here’s some signs😂

🤔 – on the Hi Line. Curious 😂

We’re in the UK!

And some interesting others..

So off we go.  If you read yesterday’s blog then you’ll know what’s gone wrong with the step monitor so all you mathematicians out there will have to do the maths.  Jac says we have to be Cinderella’s tonight so that we’re back before the thingy resets 🤔

Back later 😁

22:16

Laters😁 So this is how many steps today (minus 2000 from last night obviously)

So much to say so don’t know where to start.

More signs whilst I think about it.🤠

This is a strange one…

Maybe they mean this…

There’s a typo on this sign😂

I wondered why no one ever stands still🤔

So the most eagle eyed of you will notice that the blue car on top from yesterday has been replaced by a black one today. Ta dah.. MAGIC

So today we went to….

  1. Liberty Island
  2. Ellis Island
  3. World Trade Centre
  4. 911 Museum
  5. Wall Street

We asked a policeman for directions.  He said ‘straight down there and take number 1’  We went straight down there and the platforms were alphabetical 🤔 personally I think he’d been drinking on duty.  😂😂😂

Once off the subway (and I don’t mean the shop). We once again asked directions to Battery Park. The guy was very helpful. He said ‘ya see those trees down there and those windows looking at ya well ya keep going till ya hit that building (slam dunk 😂) than ya take a right and ya keep going.  Ya have a nice day ‘. Now whoever told me people in New York were rude are sorely mistaken because everyone who’s seen us coming looking totally lost have, without exception, been amazingly helpful 😁

I love my fancy smancy new camera. Alex I can see right up her nostril 😁

We went up to her Crown

This was an oasis in the desert after our trip across two islands.

I actually can’t remember which order we did things so I’m just going in any order now😂

One World Trade Centre

911 museum

140 Broadway

1 Liberty Place

The New York Stock Exchange by Night

Federal Hall by night

Trinity Church

Back tomorrow.  Central park and surrounding areas and theatre tomorrow😁

Hi Sharron, am loving the daily updates and travelogue of your good ol’ US of A adventure! I am intrigued by the car parking structure – think it would come in handy (you know where!). P.S.looks like you are having an amazing time!
