So this morning I was up very early and now I’m waiting in the airport after finally passing security checks🤔
Just a few more observational pictures before I sign off from another wonderful holiday.
First, the building’s when out and about in Beijing ..

Not sure how the flowers got watered🤔

Mixing the modern with the not so modern on the left hand side

Last ever bridge photo😁

And some more interesting modes of transport..

This was a boat car transporter on the Yangtze river

More signage..

Interesting…..🤔

Members of the family masquerading as the guide😂 ( hope they were getting paid)

typical plate of Chinese breakfast care of Ceri. I never got round to snapping away around the breakfast choices however lets just say they were interesting 😂

I don’t really want to end😪…
I can’t remember all of the information I was given however ill always remember..
Sticky rice – the rice was boiled and very sticky and when we went out in a group we were told to keep together like sticky rice😁
Chinese people aren’t allowed to sit on the grass! Birds are allowed but not humans 🤔
Chinese people don’t bother voting because there is no point🤔
Chinese people are brought up in little communities and do everything together! So toilets in a row with no doors and no partitions. They go about their ‘business’ whilst chatting about the weather!
EVERYTHING symbolises good luck🤣
There are 6 million cars in Beijing (no idea where they park them). So to alleviate the traffic on the road they have days when you can and can’t drive on the road. For example, if the number on their number plate starts with a 6 or an 8 then you can only drive on Monday and Wednesday and with a 5 or 7 on a Tuesday and Thursday. Saturday and Sunday is a free for all. Hence it was rammed yesterday at the Summer Palace😂. We came up with a simple solution … have 2 cars 😂😂😂😂. Even more cars on the road🤣
It is strictly forbidden to gamble in China, however if I’m remembering it correctly, gambling isn’t banned in Macau as gambling is a major part of their economy and to do so would would seriously impact on their jobs and livelihood 🤔
Chinese swimming! – Chinese are raised often in only 1 or 2 rooms with very little space and therefore, as we know, they are very good at pushing and shoving! AKA Chinese swimming! So at the Warrior’s and any other busy place we adopted the arm position of ‘I must I must develop my bust’ (hope you all know what I mean otherwise that joke is lost on you🤣) and pushed our way through. I have to say by the end of the fortnight I stopped saying sorry for bumping into people because no one with an ”Asian face’ apologised☹
It’s been absolutely amazing and I achieved my dream.
Remember the red luggage tags, akin to the red carnations, well I was frantically looking for the ‘carnation’ and then I met up, incidentally, with the British members of Sean’s family at Shanghai Airport and we stayed together throughout, mainly because I was like sticky rice🤣🤣.
So thank you Cherril, Ceri, Janette and David for an amazing and memorable holiday (albeit I had to refresh my memory by going back through my blog as there’s been so much that we’ve done). There were some memorable characters on the group and Mrs Growcock kept us entertained 🤣🤣🤣
Mrs Growcock..

And Mr Growcock looking for (again) Mrs Growcock

The Wall was my favourite and I’d return in a heart beat however a close second was EVERYTHING.
I have to say that the best and only part of staying in 5 different accommodation in 2 weeks is the FREE toiletries 🤣… So in my suitcase this holiday I only have 1 panda, 1 Chinese hat, 1 Australian hat and several combs, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, shower caps, shoe shine and slippers!
AND I didn’t see one single ping pong table 🤣
Oh yay more Chinese food on the plane to Dubai 🤣. I don’t want to eat any more Chinese food this year!

Finally, finally I never saw myself as an alien before although others may disagree 🤣

My departure card!
😁
