Day 12 of 19 – Dracula here I come

So now I’ve replaced the library photos with my own🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Okay so first off is Peles Castle (pronounced by our guide with a silent h on the end Pelesh) Probably not what you associate with a traditional castle. Pretty from the outside and grandiose from the inside. Apparently it has 140 rooms including 30 bathrooms! We didn’t see anywhere near that many🤣

Outside first!

Two of the four Kings of Romania
The other two of the four Kings of Romania

Now the inside!

This is a retractable roof
George slaying the dragon
Merano glass
This is the elevator
Made with merano glass
The gun in the middle is a gun and a knife!
This was painted by a Flemish artist who had no arms so was painted with his feet

And now to Dracula’s Castle ☺️

From the outside

From the inside

The secret passageway

Vlad the Impaler

Imagery of Vlad with impaled victims. The guide said that it’s not accurate as they were impaled down through their neck coming out by their buttock🤣

Weapons and torture

And without all this the annual ticket sales would not exceed 4 million euros!

Nearly forgot more chandeliers
My next room for two nights in Brasov. Town looks nice as we came in
Coat of arms of transylvania
