Day 7 of 10 – Giardini Naxos via Valley of Temples and Piazza Amerina

So ooo the fish from the previous night was Dorada!

So the valley of temples is in Agrigento which is another place that Mussolini changed the name of🤷🏻‍♀️

Temple of Juno

Another sacrificial alter for animals offered up to Zeus

On route to next temple

Almond TREE. Who knew🤦🏻‍♀️
Graves
Monuments to people who lost their lives doing good to bring down the mafia. See below
We were told the story of this Judge. I’ll try and remember it for later
Soooo. The Romans were very clever and ahead of their time (see what I did there! AHEAD) . They mass produced the bodies and just made the head to look like the actual emperor. They just recycled the bodies for the next emperor etc etc. 😆

Temple of Concordia… the only one that’s not been reconstructed

This was part of a modern sculpture exhibition many years ago. The sculptor donated this one. This is one of the brothers that flew too near to the sun. I need to Google his name🤷🏻‍♀️

Temple of Hercules

And finally Temple of Zeus which was by far the largest of them all however more of a ruin

We then stopped for lunch and it was sooooo lovely

And loads of wine🥰

We then went to a Roman villa which was very nice. I think we all just wanted to sleep after our lunch😆

The spa
The communal toilet!
