Day 17 of 19 – homeward bound via Vienna

Hopefully my cat will be pleased to see me๐Ÿ˜Š

Would you believe that it’s lovely and sunny this morning!  Why couldn’t that have been yesterday  ๐Ÿ˜•

Three hour drive and then three hours round Vienna and then drive to hotel in Vocklebruck ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธfor penultimate hotel before home to my own bed.

Back with more bridge photos later.  PS Budapest is a must if you haven’t been already๐Ÿ˜Š

Okay so maybe no bridges today. I thought Vienna was on the Danube but apparently not.  I’m looking at Daryl’s travel book whilst on the coach so now I’ll give more of an update from yesterday’s photos!

He is St Gellert regarded as the patron Saint of Budapest
Liberation monument
The opera House
It seems that this church is called Matayas Church.  May be both Matayas and Stephen๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

It seems that when it’s not being renovated the citadel was once a door that inspired terror but now has a hotel where people can sit and enjoy the view๐Ÿ˜Š

Millennium monument in heroes Square
Giving lots of information about the Parliament building
Gellert Hotel and Bath complex. Mandy ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™. Or anyone that wants to pay for me to go would be as nice ๐Ÿคฃ

Just going back to the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. It is the second largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon!

Back to Budapest

That’s called Elizabeth Bridge
And that’s Liberty Bridge
And this bridge is closed for repair๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

WARNING there will be lots of photos later however for now lunch and a treat for me๐Ÿ˜Š

So Vienna was lovely.  I’ll try to keep the photos to a minimum๐Ÿคฃ

The former palace

Another opera House (I don’t mean in Vienna I mean every place seems to have an opera House. As they do a church and a cathedral) ๐Ÿคฃ

Apparently this appeared in a mission impossible movie. Might have to watch it againโ˜บ๏ธ

The cathedral

Modern art!

Monument made of euros

Anything else!

Steps up to a museum

Scenery

Erm I think this may just be water. May be a canal ot river๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

The beach๐Ÿคฃ

We went in the swarovski shop!

And Mandy’s shop๐Ÿ˜†

So we’re 30 minutes from the hotel and the police decide to pull the coach over. They collect our passports and are quite a while sat in their car. It seems the problem isn’t with the passengers but with Liz and Nigel who appear to have been in the country for over 3 months๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. So, I’m okay that’s the situation what’s the solution! Like one of those plane disaster movies we’re looking round the coach for a driver, the wing man and the trolley dolly to serve the coffee๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฃ. We’re finally allowed to continue but think there’ll investigate further Liz and Nigel๐Ÿฅต

Thought my room would be traditional. No frills but still comfy
