So I like Ketchikan. Another place you can only get to be boat or plane.  Went to a totem park and learned about totem pole carving. Poles are made of cedar wood because cedar wood rots from the inside to the outside which means the carvings on the outside last longer. Each pole has its own story and it is not revealed, by the carver, until the pole is ready to be erected. Some carvers die before the pole is finished and therefore the story is never told.

All three places in Alaska have a gazillion jewellery shops and infamous brothel houses! Two of them you can only get to from the sea or air.
